Points

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration maintains a point system for all moving violations.  Accumulating points on your driving record will effect both the status of your license, and your automobile insurance rates.  A complete list of points and fines is available here.

Any moving violation not listed below and not contributing to an accident

§21-310 Following another vehicle too closely
§21-801.1 Speeding in excess of the posted speed limit by 10 miles an hour or more
§16-104 Driving with an improper class of license
§21-706 Failing to stop for a school vehicle with activated alternately flashing red lights
§21-1111 Putting glass, injurious substances, or refuse on highway or bridge or in waterways prohibited
§21-405(d) Passing an emergency or police vehicle using audible and visual signals (unless vehicle is stopped, or driver is directed to do so)  
§21-511(a) Failure to yield right-of-way to a blind or deaf pedestrian
§21-202(h)(1)  Fail to Stop at Steady Circular Red Signal

§16-101 Driving while not licensed
§16-105(g) Driving on a learner's permit unaccompanied
§16-304 Causing or permitting an unauthorized minor to drive

§21-902(a) Driving while impaired
§21-902(a)(2) Driving while impaired per se
§21-902(d) Driving while under the influence of illegally used controlled dangerous substance
Failing to stop after an accident resulting in bodily injury or death
Homicide, life threatening injury under Article 27, §388B of the Code, or assault committed by means of a vehicle
Any felony involving use of a vehicle
Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer
The making of a false affidavit or statement under oath, or falsely certifying to the truth of any fact or information to the Administration under the Maryland Vehicle Law or under any law relating to the ownership or operation of motor vehicles
Any violation involving an unlawful taking or unauthorized use of a motor vehicle under Article 27, §342A or §349, or §14-102 of this article
