If you are charged with DUI/DWI, regardless of whether you are going to go to trial or to enter a guilty plea, you should be evaluated immediately to determine whether you are a social drinker, potential problem drinker, problem drinker or alcoholic.  This evaluation will usually include a recommendation of a course of treatment, and the defendant should start treatment at once.  The recommended treatment program must be given by an organization that is approved by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration (ADAA) of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH).  Recognized treatment providers are listed below by county.  You will need Acrobat Reader to read the files.  If you do not have Acrobat Reader - follow the link at the lower left of the screen to download a free copy.
